Aspartame – Killer Sweetener

Aspartame is considered by some to be the worst chemical out there today. It causes so much damage to our bodies, especially our children, yet there are no outward symptoms to prompt us to seek medical help. This is one sweetener you want to avoid at all costs!

Aspartame is an excitotoxin, which means, basically, that it excites your brain cells to death. Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? Equate, Nutrasweet and other artificial sweeteners consist of Aspartame. You can also find it in a lot of diet sodas.

Ironically, Aspartame is an addictive substance, so it can actually hurt your efforts to lose weight. Once you start using it, you will crave it more and more…so you actually end up eating MORE, which obviously isn’t going to help a weight loss program!

Aspartame is known to cause any or all of the following symptoms:

  • Headaches or migraines
  • dizziness
  • seizures
  • nausea
  • Numbness
  • muscle spasms
  • weight gain
  • rashes
  • depression
  • fatigue
  • irritability
  • tachycardia
  • insomnia
  • vision problems
  • hearing loss
  • heart palpitations
  • breathing difficulties
  • anxiety attacks
  • slurred speech
  • memory loss
  • joint pain

If those symptoms aren’t enough of a reason to avoid the use of Aspartame all together, consider that it can cause or worsen brain tumors, Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s, birth defects and Diabetes.

The effects Aspartame has on our children is even more devastating. Remember that excitotoxins like Aspartame work by firing inactive brain cells. These brain cells get over-stimulated and die. Since our brains do most of its growth and development in the first 7 years of our life, the brain cells being killed are more vital to their future success.

Too many parents think that it’s OK to give children diet soda, but most of them are sweetened with Aspartame! This is one sweetener that will NOT sweeten up your life. Please, PLEASE read the labels before you buy, and AVOID Aspartame at all costs!!!
